Dear You,
I have been on the move a lot this year. I have experienced different countries, cities, and cultures, but one thing that has remained the same across countries is that excellence stands out—no matter where you are. Even with limitations, people can tell when someone values excellence. It shows especially in the quality of the results you put out, especially when you have limited resources.
Excellence is not perfection but the highest quality of work attainable with the given resources. Some people try to fake it, but unfortunately, you can't fake excellence. It is either there or not there. Whenever you are faced with a choice to choose between mediocrity and excellence, choose to do your best with the resources you have. How you use the little you have reflects how you'll use the excess. How you do the little things says a lot about how you do the big things. Always choose excellence. Don't wait until everything is perfect; decide today to do your best with what you have.
What are you going to attempt to be excellent at?
With Love,
Blessing Abeng
sidebar: you should watch this conversation with Adaora, someone I think is excellent at many things she does:
BA taught me to sign off everything I do with excellence.
Since I started applying it to my work life, the joy of becoming more excellent has changed my life, and the results also show for it.
