a brand hack: be human
Dear You,
Whether you are a business or a person, chances are, there is a human being at the other end of the phone liking the post as a business or individual account. Even if you manage a business account, you are a person, and you'll like content that you resonate with or feel resonates with the business.
The point is that you, the human, make the decision and tap the like button or fuel organic engagement, not bots, humans. No one wants to engage with robots on social media. This is why I believe so much in human-to-human marketing. Don't get overwhelmed by words like B2B or B2C. Don't overthink it. We want to engage with human beings. Be human.
This means:
You don't have to be perfect all the time.
You're allowed to have a beautiful BTS video.
You can show imperfections, make mistakes and admit it.
You can have a bad day.
You can make one mistake.
You can share and tell your story!
You can be imperfect every once in a blue moon.
You can be relatable and use simple words.
You can take people on a journey and give them personalized experiences.
It means you don't have to be a robot on social media! You can speak in human terms, call people by their names, have a personality, and just be human!
As a business, think… if your business was a human, who would it be? Knowing this will set you apart in the eyes of your audience and attract them to you. They will be more likely to know, like, and trust you.
